Over 50 years ago, Boyd Anderson and his
wife, Barbara started a small studio on Main Street in
El Cajon...Boyd Anderson Photography. Over the years, they
grew not only their business but their family, too. Weddings,
Families, and Children were the main stay that helped them
to grow. Eventually, they started in the school portrait
business. In the beginning, there was only Grossmont and
El Cajon Valley, but, soon other High Schools would follow.
As the years progressed and the community grew, so did
the studio. While always maintaining it’s “small
town, community” attitude, concentrating on traditional
yet creative photography. Providing uniquely personal service
to all it’s customers, i.e. brides & grooms,
moms & dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents, school
administrators and students.
In 1971, a Helix High School senior was
photographed at the Studio. Little did they know that in
a few years
that
young man would become a moving force within the business.
That young man, John Stickney, eventually came to work
for the studio in 1975 as a photographer.
Very quickly, John became Boyd’s right
hand-man. By 1980, John was promoted to Head Photographer
and Manager.
Boyd was spending less time at the studio and more
time at the professional lab he helped start. In 1991,
Boyd
retired and sold the studio to John and his wife, Denise.
Since 1991, John
and Denise have continued the growth of the studio and
kept the same values, attitudes
and dedication
to their craft, the community and the people that
share their vision, as Boyd and Barbara Anderson had
when
they started the business.
We hope you will enjoy your experience at
our studio and will treasure the portrait created by our
gifted
staff.
